Must See Decorating Ideas for Bedrooms

Small Bedrooms

Small bedrooms can be the most difficult to decorate. So little space is available in a small room to decorate. However, there are a few tricks to decorating a smaller room.

When decorating a smaller room, use light or bright colors.

One way to make the room look bigger is the use of mirrors.

Shelves above and below the bed are great ways to create more space. The utilize compact furniture.

Large Bedrooms:

A small bedroom may seem too crowded and a big bedroom can seem empty and cold.

One tip is to divide the bedroom into sections. One area can be used as a sleeping area, another area for reading or a private sitting area, another area for an office.

Large furniture can help the room look less empty. Using a king sized bed with a large stylish frame helps. Have large reading areas, office areas and sitting areas.

Use large patterns on the walls or large wall art is another way to make the space in the room seem cozier. The larger patterns and decorations will make the walls stand out and appear closer.

Loft Bedrooms

If the loft bedroom has lots of windows, investing in long, heavier draperies with darker colors are ideal.

The rustic look is really fun in a loft room. Wooden furniture, quilts and rustic chandeliers are great ways to achieve the rustic look in a loft room. Imagine this copper chandelier hanging from the loft above the bed.

A loft room is totally separate from the rest of the house and can be decorated any way you desire.

Basement Bedroom

A basement bedroom can seem dark and confining. However, with a little creativity and effort, a basement room can become the bedroom hideaway that you love. Lighting is the key to making it awesome. Lights in the ceiling and over the bed and lamps on the table are great ways to add lighting to the room.

The raw basement look is created by leaving the brick walls and overhead piping exposed. Use throw rugs on the floor instead of a carpet for additional effect.

Many times the basement bedroom will take up half of or the entire basement. When this happens, you will have a lot of space so utilize it for a walk in closet, large dressers, furniture and big beds.

Studio Apartments:

Studios can be tricky to decorate because the bedroom is the living room and the kitchen. Tip- separate the different spaces, one for the bedroom, another the living room, another the dining room, then decorate those spaces appropriately to your tastes. Utilize plenty of lighting to add to the looks and feel of the studio.

Shelves are a great way to separate the spaces into rooms.

Every kind of room has its advantages and disadvantages when it comes to decorating. Work with the space you have and not against it. Get creative with your home and have fun.
